Objectives	Evaluate claims to see if they are supported by reasons and evidence. RI.6.8 Trace and evaluate the argument and specific claims in a text, distinguishing claims that are supported by reasons and evidence from claims that are not. W.6.1 Write arguments to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence.
Activities	Monday, November 13, 2017 Pick out evidence in "Are Athletes Overpaid?" and Socratic seminar worksheet to support their argument.  Group debate on "Are Athletes Overpaid?" Class debate: students choose which side they are on: Athletes are paid too much/Athletes are paid the right amount, and discuss using their Seminar Worksheet.
Homework	Read for 30 minutes
Reminders	Wednesday, Nov. 15th is national recycle day Canned Food Drive!!! Bring those canned or dry food items to your 1st hour teacher or to the office!!
