Wednesday, August 16th, 2017

Class time: Roughly 20 minutes.

Objective: Getting to know the class activities.

Activity:

Name cards

1. Students will get a piece of paper and fold it three times, creating a tent name tag that can stand up on their desk.
2. On the tag, the students will write their name in the middle on one face of the tent. In the upper left hand corner of the same side the students will answer the question: What superhero they want to be?, on the upper right they put what their favorite book; on the bottom left they put their favorite hobby; and on the bottom right they put where they are from or have lived the longest.

RallyRobin:

When the students are done filling out the name cards they will participate in a RallyRobin.

• With their shoulder partner,  students will go back and forth sharing one thing they put on their name tag. When they are done sharing all of their information, they will stand up to let me know they are done.
• Then, they I will randomly select four pairs to share one thing they learned about their partners. 

Students will put their name tags in the bin for their class period. 

Homework: FOR PERIOD ONE ONLY: have parents sign parent/student handbook sheet and turn-in by 8/30.
