- Bell work: Students answer reading question: How does Brian feel about the regarding the .22 gauge rifle and use of the butane lighter? When do we use R.A.C.E.? on google classroom.
- Students get onto narrative document and continue working on narratives and/or editing their narratives.
- Review responding to a constructed response, then Read "Up From Slavery"
- Work time: students will respond the to the prompt about the story.
- Exit ticket: What is the structure acronym we use to help us respond to a constructed response?
Period 4:
- Bellwork: Students answer reading question: How does Brian feel regarding the .22 gauge rifle and use of the butane lighter?
- When do we use R.A.C.E.?
- Students continue get onto their narrative documents and continue working on their falling action scenes.
- Review R.A.C.E. then read "Up From Slavery"
- Work time: Students will respond to the prompt on the story.
- Exit ticket: What are does each letter of R.A.C.E. represent? When do we use it?

Periods 1,2,5: Complete and Edit Survival Narratives over the weekend. Completed Draft due Monday 3/5 by class time.
Period 4:
Complete scenes up to Falling Action and edit over the weekend. Due Monday 3/5 by class time.

The end of unit four is Friday 3/2: The students' survival narrative writing assessment for unit 4 is due by Monday 3/5.
Remember period 1 to sign and turn in the Home Energy Action
form if you want to support Rocky Top
and save energy in your home.
Do not forget to purchase a copy of Hatchet so your student can have a copy at home since the classroom copies stay in the classroom.
