Objectives	RL.6.5 - Analyze how a particular sentence, chapter, scene, or stanza fits into the overall structure of a text and contributes to the development of the theme, setting, or plot.
Activities	February 8, 2018 Warm up: Students look over their annotations of chapter 7 from yesterday and discuss how the chapter helps develop the theme of "the contrast between urban and wilderness environments and its effect on humans." Read Chapter 11 of Hatchet Students independently read section from chapter 10 annotating for how Brian contrasts urban and wilderness environments. Students will fill out the Theme citation catcher for tomorrows book group. Exit ticket: The author contributes to development of the theme on page ---- by describing -----
Homework	Finish the Theme citation catcher on google classroom if they did not complete it in class. Due tomorrow by class time.
Reminders	Remember period 1 to sign and turn in the Home Energy Action form if you want to support Rocky Top and save energy in your home. This up coming Tuesday (2/13) is our library day so make sure your student has the book(s) they need to turn in.  Do not forget to purchase a copy of Hatchet so your student can have a copy at home since the classroom copies stay in the classroom.
